AWESOME WEEK! my companion is a boss!!! Seriously he’s such a great guy. He’s from the state of Toluca, Mexico. He’s been out about 10 months, speaks English really well, and within about 10 min. of getting to know each other, we were laughing a ton. He’s awesome.
So . . . this week was great and hard and HOTTTTT! I’m really used to working in the bottom part of the ward because that was my old area. So this week we did a lot of exploring and contacting and finding new investigators. So all in all, this is what happened this week . . . .
Jorge and Carmen and Angela are doing great. When Elder Perez left, Jorge cried himself to sleep. Poor guy! Carmen and Angela are still ready for baptism!
We found a new investigator named Yamili. She’s a Seventh Day Adventist, but not active. Her husband passed away about 7 years ago and she has several small children. We taught her about the restoration and she said she seems willing to make changes. She knows the Book of Mormon is true!!!! So that’s pretty cool!
Sylvia is the referral we contacted about 2 weeks ago. She’s awesome! She has read part of the Book of Mormon and says she feels peace when we teach her. Right now we’re just trying to help her recognize the Spirit and keep on teaching her and get the youth involved with her.
We had a special experience Thursday. It was 7:00 PM and all our lessons had fallen through. All we could do was teach people on the street and make future appointments. It got to the point where we were just walking around without much success and then off in the distance we saw a member step outside his house. We walked up to him and he asked us if we could give his sister a blessing. She was really sick. When we walked in the sister started crying and her mom said they had been praying for the elders to come. We gave her a blessing and promised that she would feel better by Sunday and that she would be able to come to church, and she did.
I learned that day that sometimes the Lord needs us to be in a certain place at a certain time and that He will guide us to His children that are in need.
Adolfo is still passing through some rough times. He moved out of his old house because of some problems with the landlady. We helped him do that this week. He blessed the sacrament on Sunday, which was awesome!
Yuriana is also passing through some rough times. We don’t exactly know what it is but we know she’s having some family issues. She didn’t come to church on Sunday, but this week we taught about the atonement. She had no idea that Jesus made such a sacrifice for us. She knew he came to the earth and died but that’s it. She didn’t know why. So it was a special lesson we had with her.
Well it was a great week and we saw many miracles. I love being a missionary. I know that Jesus lives and that we as members of the Church don’t celebrate his death, we celebrate his life and resurrection . I love the gospel and I know that sometimes we don’t understand everything about the church or the gospel, but if we act with faith, everything works out.
Love ya,
Elder Hunt
PS: Congrats Ethan, for your call to Indonesia!!! You’re going to see miracles!
